Don't believe us:

This is what real nail technicians have to say.

“Before becoming a nail technician I worked as an Administration Manager/PA Customer Service. Trying to get a part-time job was virtually impossible at that time (late 1990’s) I had always wanted to work in this industry and was getting my nails done at a discount salon and thought that looks easy! What I like most about being a nail technician is the flexibility when I was a salon owner and the varied work. The qualities I think you need to become a great nail technician are communication, patience and an eye for detail. If you are considering becoming a nail technician, expect it to be hard work and a lot of practice. Spend as much on your education as you can and make sure your educator knows their subject and has current working experience.”

“Before I became a nail technician, I was a hairdresser and New mum. I was bored, I had nothing to throw myself into while I was at home with the children. I've always been a practical learner and as much as I loved hairdressing it wasn't what I really wanted to do. I did it because it was creative and suited me. I wanted to do something I could get lost in and progress in but most importantly wake up and do something I truly loved. The best thing about being a nail technician is the creativity and meeting new people on a regular basis. I think in order to be a great nail technician, you need to have the passion for what you do, be willing to work hard for it. There's nothing better than going to someone who has drive and enthusiasm. The results will be in your work My advice to you would be to make sure its something you really want to do, and if it gives it 110% Practice as much as you can because it doesn't always come easily to some nail technicians you really do have to work hard at some techniques but it's all worth it.”
